The game

Build a Hooper is a free browser game about one question: what if you could build an impossible basketball player by stealing one skill at a time from current and all-time great rosters — then find out how far that player gets in a full 82-game season? No download, no account, runs on anything with a browser. Here's how it works.

Where the ratings come from

Every player rating in the game is derived from real, publicly available season statistics — per-game production, shooting location splits and advanced impact metrics — mapped through our own formulas and percentile-ranked across the full player pool. They are editorial estimates built for a game, not official figures. The full methodology lives on each team page and the attributes guide.

Unofficial, and clearly so

This is a fan-made simulator. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the NBA, its teams, or any players' association. No official logos, photos or uniforms appear anywhere on the site.
